  • In diseases like cancer, uric acid increases due to the increase of cells in the body.

Symptoms of increasing uric acid

  • Pain in ankles, fingers and knees can be its symptoms.
  • Crystals of uric acid get deposited in the joints, due to which swelling is felt in the joints.
  • Uric acid can cause problems related to urination, kidney stones can also occur. 
  • When uric acid increases, there is unbearable pain in the joints and there is difficulty in getting up and sitting.
  • The person also starts feeling tired more quickly. Swelling occurs in the fingers and toes and there is severe pain.

How to reduce risk of increasing uric acid


Drink plenty of water and have a good sleep- Drinking plenty of water leads to faster excretion of uric acid from the kidney. Always carry a water bottle with you. Good sleep is also important. Stop using digital screens 2 hours before sleeping.



Increase the amount of fiber in the diet (Add fiber to your diet) - Increasing the amount of fiber in your diet can get rid of uric acid. Fiber also controls the blood-sugar level.


Avoid sugary drinks and sweets- Reduce intake of foods that are high in purine. For example, meat, sea food, etc. produce a large amount of uric acid after digestion.


Berries will control uric acid (Eat berries)- Berries like strawberries, blueberries, etc. have anti-inflammatory properties. This special property is beneficial in reducing the level of uric acid.


Eat Cucumber and Carrots- Carrots and cucumber are very good for reducing uric acid. Carrots are extremely rich in antioxidants that help regulate the production of enzymes. Due to their high fiber content, they also help in flushing out the uric acid content from the body. Cucumber is a great choice for people who are dealing with high uric acid in their blood.



Treatment of uric acid


  • If the level of uric acid increases, you should consult your doctor to control it.
  • Eat 2 to 3 walnuts daily. By doing this, the increased uric acid will start decreasing gradually.
  • Eating high fiber food such as oatmeal, oatmeal, beans, and brown rice will absorb most of the uric acid and reduce its level.
  • Consume celery daily. Even this will reduce the amount of uric acid.
  • If you are fond of eating outside food, stop it immediately and include fruits, vegetables and fiber food in your diet.
  • Do not eat things like kidney beans, chickpeas, colocasia, rice white flour, red meat.
