Uric acid stones: When uric acid is slightly higher in the urine, it accumulates in the kidney and forms crystals alone or with calcium.
Cystine stones: These are very rare. People get this because of the genetic history of cystinuria.
Struvite stones: It forms due to urinary tract infection. Females are often affected by this stone.
The main risk factor is the formation of less urine. At least 1-liter urine has to generate daily. Other risk factors include prolonged dehydration, too much or too little exercise, weight loss surgery
obesity, eating high levels of protein, salt, or glucose, and gastric bypass surgery. Medical conditions like cystinuria, renal tubular acidosis, and hyperparathyroidism also cause kidney stones.
Treatment

Shock wave lithotripsy: The procedure takes 45 minutes to 1 hour using general anesthesia. All
pieces will pass out through urination.
Ureteroscopy: By this method under general anesthesia, a long tool shaped like a tube is used to remove small-sized stones. If stones are larger then, these will be broken into small pieces.
Percutaneous nephrolithotomy: A tube is directly inserted into the kidney to expel the stone and the patient can be hospitalized for 2 to 3 days.
Ayurvedic treatment and Home remedies: For small to large-sized stones, many ayurvedic herbs are able to break them. Bergenia ligulata (Pashanbheda) and Phyllanthus niruri (Bhuiamla) are largely known as stone breakers.
